The Art of getting things done

So I am into day 4 of my 13 day break and I have already ticked off some of my list items:

I have been exercising lots – 10 mins on the exercise bike yesterday followed by a 20 min jog/walk with the dog and then a 2km swim all before lunch. I started off this morning with a 5 km walk/jog.

I have been sleeping in, but not heaps just enough to satisfy the amount my body has been requesting.

I made six heat packs over the weekend, so that item is fully ticked off. I got most of the sewing done except for some missing buttons to be sewn on.

I have been doing the general house cleaning and will continue that never ending task =>

Today it is time to do some web development work for one of my TWC clients, I will start as soon as this article is posted.

So productivity is high and key is for it to remain so.

Stuck in the mud

I have 10 working hours left before my time in my current job is over, yipppeee!!

This week has been really hard, my motivation has been really low, my sleep has been disturbed (not helping the motivation) and I have been feeling CBF’ed on everything for the last three days. I am sure the cause is just over working doing stuff I don’t want to be doing. I think this break and new career/ job have come just in the nick of time as I am not sure how much longer I could have endured this feeling.

As much as I want to get lots done in my break the critical do to item will be to rest and rejuvenate. I want to start the new job as a fresh person.

So last day tomorrow then a very lucky thirteen days off!

Break planning

I have 5 working days left before I get my two weeks off. It’s not a full two weeks but its close enough. So not wanting this time to be wasted here are some of the things I intend to do during my break:

I want to make some decent progress on my two TWC clients – meet with both clients to report progress and decide on next steps

Catch-up with family and friends

Relax & get lots of exercise

Get my hair cut, nails done, massage & purchase some new work clothes

Get my car cleaned in & out

Start getting all my tax stuff together and have a meeting with my tax agent

Make some heat packs for gifts & some sewing repairs on clothes

Work in the garden

Work with the dog, we need to perfect some commands to move on to the next level in dog school

Wash the dog

General house cleaning

Catch up on sleep, also get ready to start my new job!

I have two more games of netball left then the real training commences for Octobers 10km jog. I am lucky to have some time off this month so I can increase my exercise during this time.

Actual June exercise schedule

So June is coming to a close and here is my actual exercise schedule providing I swim this evening and take the dog for our morning walk tomorrow. I didn’t stay right on track with the schedule but I am happy with my progress to date. Work was full on this month with a ton of over time so all up I think I did really well.

Current Goals – Adjusted

 I am setting the goal “Find a job that I enjoy” to complete for the time being. I start the new job as an IT/Finance trainer on the 23rd of July.

“Go to China for a three week holiday” has been removed this is now on a longer term goal list. I am taking two weeks off before I start my new job. I am already planning what things I am going to do during this little break.

Whoop, got the training job!

I was offered the job this afternoon after having a second interview this morning. I am stoked. So China is off the cards for the immediate future, rather I intend to have two weeks off in between jobs at home. Just to rest, exercise and get numerous things done around the house such as fixing our curtains and working on the garden.

I am so excited about changing my career direction to training, it’s still in IT and Finance so none of my skills will be wasted. The company is happy to support me doing a Certificate in Training and Assessment so once I have that under my belt with some formal experience there will be no stopping me. I am looking forward to doing a job which I actually get some personal satisfaction from interacting with people and helping them. Of course I know it won’t all be a bed of roses as there will be a substantial amount of travel and I have lots to lean.
